Lampshade making workshop / More than one attending!...

It's Ruth's last week with us here at Moji Studio making two cushions: One square piped cushion with zip and one round cushion with piping, zip and gusset. As the photos show the cushions look great and I am happy to say that Ruth left very inspired and pleased with both her courses and cushions. Lucky people who are getting them for Christmas this year.

Here is Sam learning how to print her own fabric and making a drum lampshade using modern lampshade making technique. The fabric is 100% linen and printed with water based eco friendly ink available at Moji Studio. The image Sam has chosen has been cut to a stencil first and then by using screen printing technique printed on the piece of fabric she used for her lampshade. Looks really nice so well done Sam!

 Here are the pictures of one of my Traditional Lampshade Making workshops I run from my Studio and sue who attended the workshop made a very elegant lampshade with 100% silk and decorated by cream trimmings. Well done Sue!

Here is one of my students Linda from Brighton learning how to make Curtains and Roman Blind. This three day workshop is quite intensive but fun. You will learn how to construct a pencil pleat curtain, two different headings and finally roman blind all using hand sewing technique.

Here are few pictures of our advanced lampshade making workshop, where Gemma is learning how to make a lined shade using panelling method. Each panel is made of different fabrics and it looks really good.

The 1-2 day advanced lampshade making workshop acts as a follow on from our two day traditional lampshade making workshop where students will be learning how to construct a shade using one of the following techniques: Pleating, gathering or panelling. Here is another one of my students Gemma  attending the two day traditional lampshade making workshop at the studio. Her lampshade is covered with a very nice cotton fabric with paisley pattern and decorated with matching trim on top and feather trim on bottom of the shade. The result is a very chic country style shade, so well done Gemma!
Gemma is planning to make and sell very beautiful antler chandeliers which will be showcased in my blog very soon.

Although fabrics are provided by us but students are welcome to bring their own fabric to make the shade with. This shade is going to be used in Laura's house and I can't wait to see its photo.
